Will AI Replace Realtors? My Honest Answer as an AI CTO

Summary

Will AI replace realtors? It’s the question Tino Aguirre gets asked the most, and in this video, based on chapter 4 of The AI Real Estate Disruption, he explains why it’s the wrong question. An agent’s job isn’t one task but a bundle, and automating one part doesn’t decide the fate of the whole.

AI already confirms showings, organizes documents and writes first drafts. The hard part is still human: understanding what the client wants, which data can be trusted and what commitments they can make, and earning their trust. The honest answer is that not every agent will keep their place, but there will be room for those who use better tools and offer a clearer service.

Key points: will AI replace realtors

  • An agent’s job is a bundle of tasks, not a single one.
  • AI already handles tasks like confirming showings, organizing documents and drafting.
  • In a negotiation, an offer that looks better can come with worse terms.
  • Trust isn’t an excuse: it’s earned by explaining, admitting limits and delivering.
  • Not every agent will keep their place; there will be room for those who offer a clearer service.

Frequently asked questions

Will AI replace realtors?

Not all of them, but not every agent will keep their place either. AI already handles tasks like confirming showings, organizing documents and drafting; there will be room for agents who use better tools and offer a clearer service.

Which part of a real estate agent's job can't AI do?

Understanding what the client really wants, knowing which data can be trusted, and connecting price, inspection, financing and timelines to the client's needs in a negotiation.

Is it enough to say clients will always want a person?

No. Trust is earned: by explaining your reasons, admitting your limits, keeping your commitments and helping fix things when they go wrong.

Will AI replace realtors? It’s the question I get asked the most. And I think it’s the wrong question.

I’m Tino Aguirre, AI CTO at TREM Group and IDXBoost. I build AI for real estate and use it every day with my team.

An agent’s job isn’t one task. It’s a bundle. Confirming a showing, organizing documents, writing a first draft: AI already does that. But automating one part doesn’t decide the fate of the whole.

Imagine a buyer who shows up with comps and an offer prepared by AI. The hard part is still there: what she really wants, which data she can trust, and what commitments she can make.

In a negotiation, an offer that looks better can come with worse terms. Connecting price, inspection, financing and timelines to what your client needs is still your job.

And trust is not an excuse. Saying clients will always want a person isn’t enough. Trust is earned: you explain your reasons, admit your limits, keep your commitments and help fix things when they go wrong.

My honest answer: not every agent will keep their place. But there will be room for those who use better tools and offer a clearer service. So ask yourself: if your client already has the analysis, why would they keep working with you?

At IDXBoost we build AI tools so you can spend your time on what only you can do. And if you want to go deeper, my full book is free at tinoaguirre.com/book.
